Duff Mitchell
Vice Chair, Board Member
Duff W. Mitchell is the managing director of Juneau Hydropower Inc., a hydropower, transmission, and district energy development company headquartered in Juneau. Mitchell has over 15 years’ experience in the power development industry and federal and state regulatory processes execution, reform, and project financing. As an Alaska Energy Security Task Force member, he successfully advocated for sustainable, low-cost energy for Alaskans, and aims for the same outcomes with the Alaska Energy Authority.
Mitchell holds a Master of Business Administration from Norwich University, is a retired United States Army veteran, and is a U.S. Army Command and General Staff College graduate. He is vice chair of Legislative Affairs for the National Hydropower Association, a founder of the Juneau Electric Vehicle Association, and Commander of the Post 25 American Legion.
Having grown up in Juneau, Alaska, he raised his family there. Mitchell is honored to serve Alaskans, working together to achieve tangible reductions in energy costs and improve Alaska’s energy security.
