Tony Izzo
Board Member
Tony Izzo is the Chief Executive Officer of Matanuska Electric Association (MEA), Alaska’s oldest and fastest growing electric cooperative. MEA is a generation, transmission, and distribution cooperative serving 56,000 members through 71,000 meters in Alaska’s Southcentral region. Izzo joined MEA in 2012 and became CEO in 2016.
Izzo brings over 40 years of experience in the natural gas and electric utility industry, including as past president of ENSTAR Natural Gas. In 2023, he was appointed to the Governor’s Alaska Energy Security Task Force and served as the co-chair of its Railbelt Energy subcommittee.
He is a former chair of both the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and Anchorage Mayor’s Energy Task Force and served as Honorary Commander of the United States 3rd Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Izzo served on the American Gas Association’s Operating and Management Committees and is a past Board member of the Western Energy Institute and the Board of Trustees for the Northwest Public Power Association. He currently serves on the Member Resolutions Standing Committee for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
