(Anchorage) — Today, the Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) launched a Request for Information (RFI) inviting Alaskans to provide input on locating electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure along Alaska’s alternative fuel corridor and other locations across the state, including highways, the marine highway system, and in rural Alaska.
April 25, 2022 AEA Announces Renewable Energy Fund Round 14 Recommendations
(Anchorage) — As of the January 18, 2022 deadline for Round 14 Renewable Energy Fund (REF) grant applications, the Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) received 39 applications. Upon conclusion of the REF application review and evaluation period, 27 applications were presented to the Renewable Energy Fund Advisory Committee (REFAC) on April 15, 2022, as required by statute.

(Homer) — The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) and FreeWire Technologies, a leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging and power solutions, will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on September 23 at AJ’s OldTown Steakhouse & Tavern in Homer, Alaska to commemorate the commissioning of the first of nine EV fast-charging stations to be installed on a statewide network and the very first ultrafast EV charger in Alaska. AEA’s goal is to implement a fully operational fast-charging corridor by the Summer of 2022.
