Gustavus Electric Company constructed the 800 kW Falls Creek run-of-river hydroelectric project to serve the community of Gustavus. The project can produce 2,000 MWh annually, meeting approximately 90% of the community’s electric needs. The Falls Creek hydro project has displaced an average of 148,800 gallons of diesel fuel per year since starting operation.

This project was completed in 2009.
