Director of Planning

Conner Erickson is the Director of Planning for the Alaska Energy Authority (AEA), joining AEA in 2020 as the agency’s economist. As AEA’s Planning Director, he administers many of the agency’s grant and loan programs, including the development of many new programs; provides agency research, evaluation and analysis on AEA-related energy projects; and manages AEA’s E-library.

Prior to AEA, Erickson served as a senior business analyst for Northern Air Cargo, a Saltchuk company subsidiary, primarily focusing on capex planning for their air cargo operations across Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. Prior to relocating to Alaska, Erickson served as the principal analyst for Wert-Berater, Inc., a boutique feasibility study consultancy. Erickson has performed over 30 independent feasibility analyses for businesses, developers, lenders, and brokers across an array of industries, from plastic pipe manufacturing facilities to wineries, with an aggregate projects value of more than $700 million.

Erickson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and International Studies, from the University of Denver. Erickson has been living in Alaska since 2016, residing in Anchorage and enjoying the many outdoor pursuits Alaska has to offer, especially alpine skiing and mountain biking.
