The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) and the United States Forest Service have funded more than 170 pre-feasibility studies since 2005. These low-cost pre-feasibility studies are the catalyst that led to the development of many of the Renewable Energy Fund applications and virtually all of the operational biomass systems in the state. Additional pre-feasibility studies are completed every year.
A Statement of Interest is requested from parties that would like to explore the feasibility of heating projects of individual facilities or district heating loops with high-efficiency, low-emission, wood-fired systems. Statements of Interest are accepted year round.
