ANCHORAGE, Alaska—The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) has submitted its Draft Amendment Application (DAA) to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the Bradley Lake Expansion Project, a key milestone in advancing one of Alaska’s most significant long‑term energy investments. The filing proposes to amend AEA’s existing FERC license, describes the proposed project and how it would operate, and includes a Preliminary Draft Environmental Analysis outlining the potential effects of the project.

July 14, 2025 AEA Opens Application Period for Renewable Energy Fund Round 18
ANCHORAGE, Alaska—The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is now accepting applications for Round 18 of its Renewable Energy Fund (REF) competitive grant program. The REF is a long-standing program, recognized for effectively deploying state funds in support of vetted renewable energy projects, helping diversify and strengthen Alaska’s statewide energy portfolio. Applications are due at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025.
July 07, 2025 Railbelt Transmission Organization Files Open Access Transmission Tariff on Schedule
ANCHORAGE, Alaska—The Railbelt Transmission Organization (RTO) has filed a proposed non-discriminatory Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) with the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA), meeting the statutory deadline of July 1, 2025, as established under House Bill 307 (HB 307). After forming the RTO and adopting its charter and bylaws in December 2024, the organization secured its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from the RCA in May 2025, fulfilling a key requirement established by HB 307.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska—The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA), in collaboration with the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF), is pleased to announce that the third annual Alaska National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Plan has been approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). This approval secures an additional $11 million in federal funding for the continued expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Alaska.
